Dr. Xi Sun, DMD, FAGD

Dentist

Dr. Sun offers a unique blend of academic and practical experiences. Born and raised in Mainland China, she earned her first dental degree from Hebei Medical University in 1995. Before enrolling at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2005, Dr. Sun also earned a master's degree in Informational Systems from Northeastern University, Boston. She then spent six years in stem cell research at the Pulmonary Center Boston University School of Medicine finding a cure for lung diseases.

Upon graduating in 2007, Dr. Sun has been devoted to practicing full time, providing comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Her training, guided by some of the most accomplished experts in cosmetic and implant dentistry, as well as adult orthodontics, has equipped her to provide outstanding patient care. 

Dr. Sun is a proponent of minimally invasive dentistry, leveraging advanced technologies to ensure her patients receive the most effective treatment with the least amount of discomfort. She believes in creating custom treatment plans based on accurate diagnoses of each patient's unique oral health condition, tailoring each approach to meet their specific dental needs. Her commitment to lifelong learning and exceptional patient care is reflected in her active participation in numerous professional organizations. Dr. Sun is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry (fellow), American Dental Implant Association, DOCS education and Spear education. Dr. Sun was a consulting dentist for Videa Health, an AI dental platform which facilitates radiographic diagnosis of dental conditions. She was also featured in an episode of American Health Front, educating the public about CEREC technology which aired on WCVB, ABC channel 5.

Dr. Sun firmly believes that modern technology and materials have revolutionized traditional dentistry, and that it's time for dental professionals to adopts a patient-centered, total body approach when practicing dental medicine.  

Dr. Jimmy Alburquerque, DMD

Dentist

Dr. Jimmy Alburquerque grew up in the Dominican Republic. He has been exposed to dentistry since his early days by his mother, father, grandfather, who were dentists and inspired him to pursue the profession. Most of his teenage summers were spent in Northern Virginia with his uncle and cousins. 

Dr. Alburquerque graduated from Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo in 2010 and pursued advanced dental education in São Paulo University - FOB, one of the top dental schools in Brazil. In the United States, he received his Dental Degree from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. While in school, he was actively involved in the American Dental Student Association, Academy of General Dentistry and was recognized by the Boston Chapter International College of Dentists for his outstanding academic and leadership accomplishments. 

Dr. Alburquerque has completed extensive Continuing education courses in root canal therapy, implant dentistry, dental cosmetics, laser dentistry and clear aligners. He is constantly looking for new opportunities to enhance his knowledge and clinical skills to better serve his patients. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Alburquerque enjoys spending quality time outdoors with his wife and dog. He also enjoys cooking, traveling, tennis, and soccer. 

Dr. Daniela Shkurti, DMD

Dentist

Dr. Shkurti grew up in a family of dentists and practiced general dentistry in her home country of Albania prior to coming to the United States. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. She is a certified Botox injection provider.

Making her patients feel comfortable during treatment by offering pain free dentistry is Dr. Shkurti's priority.

Dr. Shkurti loves nature and when she isn't in the office, she enjoys taking her family hiking.

Meghan

Dental Hygienist

Meet Meghan, one of our dedicated dental hygienists who is genuinely passionate about oral health. She is a proud graduate of Assumption College and furthered her education at Bristol Community College where she earned her hygiene degree. In our practice, Meghan is often the voice of education, guiding patients on the right path to proper oral home care. She's known for her comprehensive explanation of the implications of periodontal disease and how to prevent it. Her "Two Week Floss Challenge" is a prime example of her innovative approach to oral health, and it has been a resounding success. Many of her patients have seen noticeable improvements in their oral health after taking up the challenge, some even receiving her coveted gold star for perfect oral hygiene. 

But Meghan's life isn't all about teeth and gums! Outside of the dental office, she loves spending time with her husband and two adorable children. When it's game day, you'll find Meghan rooting for her beloved New England Patriots, showcasing her unwavering team spirit. 

Her combined passion for oral health and her dedication to her patients make Meghan a treasured member of our team. Whether you're in for a regular check-up or taking on the "Two Week Floss Challenge". Meghan's expertise and caring personality will undoubtedly make your visit a pleasant and educational one. 

Kateryna

Hygienist

Kateryna initially joined us part-time but quickly proved herself as an invaluable asset, leading to her full-time role after the Pandemic. 

She is a proud graduate of Quinsigamond Community College, where she received her Dental hygiene degree in 2008.  Kateryna bring a unique blend of professionalism and personalized care to our practice. She is passionate about ensuring patients feel comfortable and relaxed during their visits. her focus is not just providing top-notch dental care, but also making each dental appointment as stress-free as possible.

When she is not making patients smile brighter, Kateryna cherishes her time with her family and her beloved dogs. Her interests extend beyond the dental office, with a keen love for music and photography. She also has a creative side, often seen crafting beautiful handmade jewelry. 

In every aspect, Kateryna embodies the ideals of our practice- skilled, caring and dedicated to patient comfort. Whether it's her gentle touch during cleanings or her attentiveness to all your needs, Kateryna's commitment to your oral health will make every visit a pleasant one. 

Tracey

Dental Assistant

Introducing Tracey, one of our longest-serving team members who has been with our practice for over 40 years as a dental assistant. Tracey's tenure is a testament to her dedication and passion for dentistry. She has witnessed the evolution of our practice over the years and has continually embraces the new technologies in dentistry, always eager to learn and adapt. Tracey isn't just part of our dental family; she's also a proud member of the Norfolk community. She planted her roots here when she bought her first home and has since been a familiar, friendly face in the area. 

When she is not assisting with dental procedures or learning about the latest dental tech, Tracey loves spending time with her grandkids, who light up her life. She also enjoys camping trips and creating memories amid nature's beauty. Fitness is also an important aspect of Tracey's life. She is a regular at her boot camp classes, where she works out with a supportive group of friends. 

Tracey's commitment to our practice, her love for her community, and her passion for maintaining a healthy lifestyle are just a few things that make her a treasured member of our team. Whether you're a new patient or have been with us for years, Tracey's warm smile and demeanor will make you feel right at home. 

Ann Marie

Dental Assistant

Ann Marie has been in the dental profession for many years and has enjoyed working with the team at Norfolk County Dental Care since 2013.

She is a resident of Norfolk and loves raising her family here.

Catie has been in the dental field for over ten years. Her favorite part of the day is giving someone confidence in their smile.

Outside of the dental office, she enjoys spending time with her friends and going to musical events.

Vanessa

Dental Assistant

Vanessa is a newer addition to our family here at Norfolk County Dental Care. She recently graduated from Providence College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Vanessa is now working towards attending Dental School. Her passion for dentistry is evident and makes her a valuable part of our team.

Front Office/Receptionist

Sue has been a long-standing pillar of our team here at Norfolk County dental care. Having been with us for over twenty years, Sue's dedication to our practice is truly commendable. She earned her degree from Framingham State University and has many years of customer service under her belt. This is evident in the warm professional manner she treats all our patients with.

Sue takes great joy in her line of responsibilities; She always is working to ensure that every patient feels comfortable and well taken care of from the moment they walk through the doors. Outside of her role at Norfolk County Dental Care, Sue treasures her family time. She and her husband love spending time with their daughters and grandchildren, creating precious memories together.

Sue's exceptional customer service skills and family-orientated nature makes her an indispensable part of our team.
